On a whim, he decided to break into the ‘professional cat photography’ ranks and documented a cat show.  He now has the business cards to back it up.  The results are below.  Expect many more great things.  This relationship will be great for us and really bad for all of you.

I wasn’t going to expound on this obvious concept, but then I got pressured from the “higher ups” here at the Insurgency team  to continue with the nonsense so here you go…

Some of my favorite things:

-Crazy people on mass transit. Especially the loud smelly ones that can’t sit still. They make you feel something, even if that feeling is the fear that they might pee on you or bite your face off and give you AIDS.

-Check-out cashiers at huge retailers that won’t shut the fuck up about anything. To be quite honest, I really couldn’t give two shits about what they are saying, but the fact that they are in such a good mood and want to tell me how awesome the new scanner at register #7 is while having to deal with assholes like me all day gives me hope for the future.

-The “baby Jesus” prayer by Ricky Bobby.

The above put a smile on my face. Even while writing this. The list is short because I pretty much hate most things. I was just raised that way. Point is, these people are all crazy in their own way and that’s what makes them awesome.

I couldn’t count the number of assholes I see on a daily basis who are just trying to be like everyone else. I have figured out that everyone is becoming more of an asshole everyday because everyone else is and since everyone else is just trying to be like everyone else everyone will just keep becoming more of an asshole with each passing day. Is this why we work so hard? To better than everyone else? You mean just as awful as everyone else? You just want to fit in? Of course you do, otherwise you would have just quit the day job.

Real world example: I was invited to visit an office today (while at my perfectly awful day job) to fight out an issue in person rather than arguing via the phone because that’s what business people do, “get mad and yell in person.” (I imagine that the offer included arm flailing, but I’m not certain since our arguments had no emoticons present since we were on the telephone.) You think I am lying here. I am not. This really happened. I did not go, not because I didn’t think it wouldn’t be terribly interesting, but because I just didn’t care. I left early and watched crazy people on the subway. Join me.

May you be lucky enough to give a fuck about something.

May you be clever enough to understand when taking the harder road means you are smarter than everyone else.

May you not be the asshole who sells himself short when the peeps who are your road block wear expensive shoes and fancy cologne in an attempt to get you to follow them.

May you be strong enough to stand by your moral compass when people will pay you to betray it.

May you never fear offending a million others if it means simply saving yourself.

We don’t believe in much here at Insurgency Inc, but we do believe in the self. And may you not be so fucking stupid that you forget it even exists.

I am tired of the explanations. I do not need them.

I don’t need to know anything, actually, about you. I might want to know, but I’ll probably ask in that case. I certainly don’t need to know the who, what, when, where or why of your bullshit.

The why you did or why you didn’t doesn’t interest me, or probably anyone, around you.

How about you “do” or you “don’t” instead of explaining.

I’m not the hardest dick on the block, but let me tell you, I think a whole lot of everyone could use a whole lot of insurgency in their lives. Let’s help pass the word, dear readers:

You can do what you do and don’t do what you won’t. You will be judged either way. Or you won’t…because, really, we just don’t care. It’s not apathy, it’s focus. We don’t focus on the pithy, weak and inexcuseable. We focus on the focused, strong and questionable. We encourage the new thought and not the excusable thought. We encourage the brave not the approval seekers. We praise the fearless and stampede the weak. Survival of the fittest.

Shut the fuck up and stand by what you do. It is enough. Trust me.
